In conversation with Shirley Daventry French, the now 86 year old
founder of Victoria’s longest running Yoga Studio, the Iyengar Yoga
Centre of Victoria, Jennifer said, “In my art, I am interested in how
small, subtle and silent acts can potentially have profound effects in
the world.”
And Shirley answered, “Don’t all acts have profound effects?”

Jennifer Van de Pol and Corrie Peters’ collaboration, “”Profound Feats”,
begins with the sharing of this story, and in their mutual interest in
holding space for what is profound in the everyday. They are interested
in how pondering this calls them to a heightened sense of responsibility in the moment, to truly show up in their dailyness, together and in community.

They are inviting you to come observe, participate, witness and be
welcomed into the gallery and into feats of the everyday (participation
not necessary!)

Coffee served in the gallery:  M – F : noon – 1pm for the duration of the exhibition. Come on by.

 

FRIDAY FEATS:  Every Friday from 4 – 7pm
An invitation to fall into your body with us. Join us for one or all.

June 22 – Jam making.
We will have all supplies and bread to share.
You are welcome to bring a jar to take some home and berries to add to the recipe.

June 29 – Neck Yoga.
Jennifer is a certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor, (a 3.5 year certification process). She has your safety and well-being in mind.

July 6 – Throwing things. Feeling anger.
In conversation Corrie and Jennifer imagined a safe space to feel and enact their anger. This feat invites you to join us in that space.

July 13 – A space of listening. (For those who want to be heard.)
Be welcomed as you are, and be heard.

 

Sunday, July 8-   Feat-making for kids.
11 – 12:30pm
Feats of video making and play. Popcorn and sidewalk chalk provided.
